Pop of Red

What better way to cheer up an all-black outfit than with a pop of red? I am really getting down to the wire here with my outfits because, with the move three days away, I've packed up most of everything. I added the scarf to the look to give it a bit more dimension and interest and am quite happy with it. I got ready in record time this morning because we got a very early-morning call that the appliances were being delivered at 7:30 a.m. That meant I had to pack my lunch, get dressed and make my way to the actual house. My partner says it's good to know that I actually don't "need" my usual window of time to get ready in the morning... I'm sure he'll pull out that card at some point! Anyways, we made it to the house with a few minutes to spare. It felt like Christmas with all those massive boxes coming out of the truck! I'm actually getting excited to move now. The stress level is still up there, but there are moments of excitement throughout.

Hot Mesh

This is the outfit I wore to dinner on my birthday. I wanted to dress up a bit so I reached for my silver metallic pleated skirt and paired it with a mesh-ruffled top. I added simple jewelry and was good to go. We went to our favourite little spot and had a gourmet meal complete with chocolate fondue for dessert! A girl can never have too much chocolate, even if it's a little messy to eat! I was also gifted a beautiful pair of black pearl earrings to match my black pearl necklace received a few years back. It was the perfect gift! I had a wonderful evening spent with my love. These are the little moments I live for!

Sheer Edge

I was definitely feeling edgy when I put this outfit together. I love a good black and white print garment, and this ikat print gives the skirt a unique touch. I paired it with a sheer-panel peplum top and caged sandals. I love that both the footwear and the top give glimpses of skin. In an odd way, it gives the outfit a bit of symmetry. I figured I'd wear my hair in a half-bun, just to keep with the cutting-edge factor. Not wanting to push the boundaries too far, I opted to wear drop-pearl earrings to soften the look just a tad. Sometimes, I like to add an unexpected twist to an outfit. It makes people ask questions!
