#Blessed
I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Losing material things only puts into perspective what is truly valuable. I am thankful for life. Myself, my partner et our beloved puppies all survived the fire unscathed, which I see as miraculous in itself, as we were all fast asleep when it happened. I am thankful for my family and friends, who have proven to be the strong support system we've been lucky enough to rely on. I am thankful for my work colleagues who make my work environment a safe place and an enjoyable one to work in. I am thankful for my health and sanity, which is something often taken for granted. Most importantly, I am thankful for the second chance I've been given and will be sure to make the most of it, to live life to the fullest and enjoy the little moments. I hope you have all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and have taken time to reflect on what you are thankful for. For me, it was definitely a humbling reflection.

TBT - It's a Wrap!
Grey was the word of the day. I wore this monochrome look a few years ago already. This printed wrap dress from Jacob is one of my favourites. It is made of a sweatshirt-like material and fits like a glove. The simple print and cut give it a timeless appeal. I'm sure to hang on to this piece for many more years. By pairing it with completely grey pieces, I give the dress a streamlined look, a slightly edgier take. I could easily wear it with nude tights and polished pumps for a classic look, but by wearing opaque tights and leather booties, I upped the ante. Because of its material, this dress could also easily be dressed down for a coffee date or brunch over the weekend. Little wedge booties and a denim jacket ought to do the trick!

Love a Flare
There is no hiding my love of plaid! I was born with plaid-loving in my DNA. When your papa's a farmer, you kind of can't avoid the flannel print. I personally love it, as it can come in an array of colours, so each shirt has its unique quality. This one is my newer acquisition and was purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (and thankfully survived the fire!). I could not wait to wear it, and have so many outfit ideas for it too! I decided on wearing it under my burgundy fit-and-flare dress. I opted for sheer black tights, a velvet laser-cut obi belt and grey booties to finish the look. I must say, it's kind of nice to start wearing tights again when fall comes along. It makes for a cozier look and can really add interest. I would call this one my first official fall outfit of the season. The mix of burgundy, plaid, velvet, tights and booties is undeniably fall-like! The only thing missing is a PSL in hand! ;)

Legging Season
This was the first weekend it really started feeling like fall. The air was crisp and I was getting the old cocooning urge... Since my better half was gone fishing all weekend, I stayed home and did some laundry. I've been filtering through the boxes of clothing losses and making a list of said items for insurance purposes. Every now and then, I come across an item I feel might still be salvageable, so I'm trying my hand at cleaning a few pieces myself. I've got nothing to lose, seeing as the items are already considered unsalvageable. I feel that if I try washing it myself, and it doesn't work, it will help me accept the loss. There are a couple pieces I successfully restored and I'm taking every little win I can get! Let me tell you, I'm going to be a master stain-remover by the end of this process! All that to say, leggings was my outfit of choice, and my trusty fox slippers!

Hello, Goodbye
On to the look! I decided on my bright pompom scarf, yet again. I just can't get enough of this fun and versatile piece. I figured I'd embrace the pop of colour and build the rest of my outfit with red touches. To help transition all this colour into fall, I added desert washed distressed jeans to give off a bit more of a warm tone to the look. When I'm feeling a little down, wearing a bright colour perks me right up. Sometimes an outfit does more than just make you decent!
