Vacation - Swim Like Nobody's Watching

Finally getting to the good part of resort life: the pool/beach looks! I have the most fun styling these looks because I spend most of my days in them. Also, I find resorts to be a place where you can dress a bit fancier, if that makes any sense? I mean, summers back home are usually spent by a cottage near a lake, so fancy swimsuits/cover-ups and matching accessories is not really a thing. So, I make the most of my yearly southern escapades to pull out all the stylish beachwear!

Again, I didn't get around to shooting every look, so I'll show you what I've got! First up is the outfit I wore on my birthday. I pulled out he citrus one-piece and paired it with my ultimate favourite sheer, flowy cover-up. I added a straw hat with ivory bow, a straw bag and little lemon earrings. It felt cheerful and perfectly suited to my resort persona!

The second look was probably my favourite swim look of the week! I snagged this gorgeous polka-dot wrap one-piece suit from Old Navy at the end of the summer because I instantly fell in love with its retro vibes! I mentioned it in last Sunday's post, but this suit is so timeless and classic. I kept the retro styling going strong with a lace cover-up, cat-eye sunglasses, a boater hat, pompom earrings and a small, white, round straw bag. The only thing missing was a bold red lip (it completely slipped my mind!) I totally felt like a 50s siren in this look!

This next look was more bold and tropical. I wore my brightly-coloured printed bikini and paired it with an equally bright turquoise hat! I picked up this hat in the resort shop and it says "Beach Bum" in silver sequins. I couldn't resist adding to my (already massive) straw hat collection! Hey, they are cute AND they protect me from the sun, so it's a win-win situation. I added raffia earrings, slides and my sheer cover-up to complete the look. I just love how the breeze catches in the cover-up while I was walking along the pier! Just reliving my best resort life over here!

Last is this darling blue and white striped one-piece. Another end-of-season find from Old Navy. Their swimsuit game was strong last year! Here's to hoping they follow suit this year (pun intended!) Being the sucker for stripes that I am, I just had to add stripes to my swimwear. The lace-up detail also adds a nice nautical touch. I was drawn to the calming blue and white colour combination and felt it would fit right into the tropical setting. Between the ski, the ocean and the pool: there are shades of blue as far as the eye can "sea"! I paired it with a sailboat sarong, pearl hoop earrings and a scarf hair tie. It was such a calming look to wear while lazing in the spa pool on our last day in paradise.

Be sure to check back tomorrow as I will be doing a full review of the resort we stayed at!
