Vacation - Dresses for Dinner Dates

A part of resort life I can really get behind and going out to dinner every single night. It's like every night is date-night and it's a great opportunity to dress up! I typically opt for lightweight dresses and pile on the straw accessories. I didn't get around to photographing every look, but did manage to squeeze in a few outfit pics here and there. The first look was very neutral with pops of coral. I got this midi dress from Old Navy last summer and it's so comfortable and versatile. I gave the look a bit more of a casual vibe by wearing flat espadrilles and using the dress' sash as a headband.

I wore this second look for dinner on my birthday! I decided to add in a pop of colour and wear my favourite dress from last summer. I got it on clearance at the end of the season, so only got to wear it once before it got too cold. Therefore, I was very excited to wear it again with full-on summery accessories. We went to dinner with new friends that night and had a fabulous time! They shared a great bottle of wine they had brought with us and we ordered pretty much everything on the menu at the steakhouse. When it was time for dessert, my husband had organized a surprise birthday cake and the entire staff came out to sing Happy Birthday to me (and a bunch of other songs that seemed to go on forever!) My husband had even brought along a gift and a card. It was so thoughtful! Needless to say, I could get used to celebrating my birthday in the sun rather than the snow. ;)

By the time this look was photographed, I had gotten a bit of sun! We headed to the beach restaurant this time so I thought the flowy polka dot maxi and flat sandals would be the perfect look. This was another favourite dress from last summer (as well as the straw belt that I wore non-stop!) I sprinkled it some blue accessories and carried my go-to straw purse. Getting some wear out of my summer favourites mid-winter is so satisfying! Also, a great way of topping up your daily intake of vitamin C (and vitamin sea, haha!)

Last, but not least, we have the blue striped dress! Finally, a dress I've had longer than from just last summer. I just couldn't go on vacation without one of my Gal Meets Glam dresses. These dresses truly are the best! I love everything about them: from the style to the quality. I can't get enough of the open back and bow detail of this dress, it's so fun and feminine! I styled it with white espadrilles, a round straw bag and pearl hoop earrings. This was the perfect resort outfit!
