Mimi Takes Five - #106

ONE // Anniversary Dinner
Although we are unable to go out to a restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we opted to place an order for curbside pick-up from a local restaurant. Seeing as our usual fancy places are currently closed, we decided on something equally special: Indian food! We absolutely love the flavours and spices of Indian cuisine and, as much as we try our best to make some at home, there's nothing like the real deal. We celebrated our cotton anniversary much the way we chose to elope two years prior; just the two of us. After all, our relationship is and intimate bond between us and that is what we are celebrating.

TWO // Braided Hoop Earrings
As a kid, I used to wear one set of real gold hoop earrings. They were delicate and perfect for everyday wear. They also had this twisted detail, which I liked because it made them unique. I've not had these earrings for years now, but was instantly reminded of them when I saw this pair at H&M! They had that same twisted look I loved so much. I scooped them up right away! I have to say this style is much bigger and heavier than the pair I had as a girl, but I love the more statement-worthy aspect. They will be the perfect accessory to go with every look!

When we learned the drive-in was open, we knew we'd want to go! We like going to the drive-in in the summer because it's a really cool retro thing to do. We wear comfy clothes, pile in the blankets and pillows and bring lots of snacks. It's like going to the cinema, but with the comforts of a cozy night-in at home: it's the best of both worlds! They've modified things a bit to accommodate social distancing, so we have to purchase our tickets online and we couldn't leave our car. No biggy. The double feature was Trolls World Tour (2020) and E.T. (1982). I didn't really care what was playing really, I was just looking for something to do outside of the house! It felt so normal to be doing a typical activity.

FOUR // Floral Headband
My headband obsession continues with this most recent blue floral beauty! Most of my headbands are a solid colour, so this I'm mixing things up by introducing a print to the collection. I love the combination of white and blue and find it so fresh and light for summer. It goes with a surprising number of looks! If you're not afraid to do a little print mixing, the possibilities really multiply. I've already worn it a handful of times this spring and see myself continuing to reach for it throughout the summer.

FIVE // Virtual Bingo
I got the chance to play virtual bingo with my colleagues the other day! I'd be lying if I said I didn't pretend the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were calling out the numbers. However, our host was really great and was a good sport by donning his dinosaur onesie for the occasion! I didn't really know what to expect, but have loved bingo since learning how to play with my grandma as a kid. It was actually great fun and I'd recommend it for any type of virtual family gathering.
