Fancy Friday

Since January, I've been wearing really casual looks on Fridays. The combination of working from home with the shorter days with the post-Holiday slump meant that I was less motivated to put together cute work outfits. I prioritized comfort and coziness above all and I was okay with that. I've been feeling a bit more energized and inspired these days and am easing back into my usual groove of enjoying the process of getting dressed and putting together cute outfits. I ended up with a very French-inspired look today and I am loving it! I paired a black bodycon dress with a neck-tie shirt, chain belt, polka dot tights and a beret. Then, I added the cognac shoes and coat and toped things off with red accessories. I've always loved the classic combination of black and cognac, which is perfect for this time of year. However, adding hints of red makes the look that much more fun and totally perfect to wear around Valentine's Day without being too on the nose. I can't tell you how great it felt to put this outfit on! I felt like myself again and it was all worth it just for that feeling.
