Mimi Takes Five - #169

ONE //
Pumpkin Cardigan
I found the perfect fall cardigan, seriously. How great is this embroidered pumpkin cardigan? It's so beautiful in person and the embroidery make it look so luxe. It's giving me slight Cinderella bibbidi-bobbidi-boo vibes, no? The cardigan is also giving me librarian feels. Whatever it reminds you of, it's a great fall piece to add to your wardrobe. Pumpkins can be worn throughout the entire season and not just around Halloween because they are not Jack-o-lanterns. I'm all about that fruit print come summer, so why not keep it going and wear pumpkins in the fall? It's just so gourd-geous!

TWO // Turkey Day
Even though we are celebrating Thanksgiving on our own this year, we still planned on cooking a turkey. I mean, what is Thanksgiving without a turkey? We knew we wouldn't be able to eat the entire thing ourselves so we planned on packaging freezer-ready meals with our turkey dinner leftovers and also making a big batch of turkey soup and mini turkey pot pies. That should keep our freezer well stocked with all the hearty, homemade goodies. It makes for a lot of time spent in the kitchen, but that is also a part of the holiday. Besides, my husband is very much at home in the kitchen and I love spending quality time with him. We usually put on some jazz and create a chill ambiance.

THREE // New Eyeglasses
So I'd been putting off getting new glasses since my checkup in the spring but finally got around to it. I'd been just replacing the lenses in my frames for a few years now and decided it was finally time to change things up. Since I've been wearing glasses since I was four, I know what I like and what works for my face. I prefer dark (black or brown) plastic frames, with a cat-eye shape. After trying on a few styles and landed on these ones. They are the Longchamp (style LO2633) in the Havana colourway. The lenses are a bit bigger than what I had, but I had no issue getting used to them. I'm very pleased with my choice and, let's be real, the fact they are Longchamp is just icing on the cake!

FOUR // Beige Felt Fedora
Oh look, a hat in a colour I don't already have, ha ha! All kidding aside, I'd been wanting to add a light beige hat to my fall felt hat collection and landed on this one. It's the exact same style as the brown fedora I got from H&M last year, so I knew how it would fit. I'm very happy with it and find it brings a nice touch of lightness to some darker fall looks. Nothing beats and great hat to complete an outfit, am I right?

FIVE // Cobra Kai
Okay, I know I'm very late to the party on this one, but I am so glad I finally got around to watching Cobra Kai on Netflix! Having grown up (with brothers) in the 90s, I have watched The Karate Kid more times than I can count. My dad and brothers were fans of karate movies so they were often the movies of choice for our family movie nights. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when my husband and I were scrolling Netflix in the search of a new show to watch and landed on Cobra Kai. I figured, why not? I survived watching the movies, so the series can't be that bad. Boy was I in for a surprise! I was hooked from the very first episode and couldn't get enough. We watched the three available seasons in as many weeks and I am now anxiously awaiting the release of the fourth in December. I'd heard rumblings of the series being good, but it is more than that. I'm finding it amazing from the characters to the plot points. It's a wild ride!
