As we celebrated the fifth official day of Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday, I attended the ceremony to mark the day. Like many other attendees, I wore my orange t-shirt in solidarity. I also noticed many others wearing orange throughout the day and was touched to see the movement reach so many people. I've been doing a lot of learning on my personal reconciliation journey and it's always nice to hear of progress being made at different levels of organizations as well. I hope these efforts continue as the journey ahead is still a long one. Deciding on wearing the orange t-shirt today was the given in my outfit. I paired it with my navy blazer and white jeans. I also wore my beaded orange t-shirt pin that I made myself at a beading circle in 2022. I think the orange pops really well against the navy and was pleased I styled my t-shirt in a business-casual look for work.
