Had a work BBQ so styled this cute, laid-back outfit for the occasion. I decided to wear my new favourite floral midi dress and style it more casually with a knotted oversized white button down. I love how effortless a button-down shirt can be - rolling up the sleeves and tying it at the waist gives it an entirely new shape and protects you from the sun. Speaking of sun protection, I added a hat for good measure. That midday sun is no joke. I finished off with a cute strawberry cross-body purse and love the added whimsy and functionality. A cross-body purse means hands-free for easier food table navigating. The key to summer layering is keeping things light and airy. Breathable fabrics in light colours are usually good options.
