Distressed and Fringed

Sometimes a simple jeans and sweater combo is all you need to get through the day. I paired my distressed desert-wash jeans with a beige fringe-hem sweater. I like that the fringes echo the tears in the jeans, as it looks a little torn itself! I stuck with the cream shade for the outside look and added hints of brown with the stole and boots. Basic neutrals to stay cozy on a cool day. Simplicity at its best!

Winter Plaid

Plaid patterned pants (try saying that ten times...)! I love wearing completely neutral outfits during winter. The neutral palette picks up on the tones of a sleepy Mother Nature. Creams, taupes and greys surround us during this chilly season. Since all of those colours are present in the plaid of the pants, I used them as a jumping off point for today's outfit. Grey turtle neck, plus off-white blazer, plus taupe boots equal one neutral look! For the outside layer, I wore my cream-puff coat and taupe faux-fur stole. You really can't go wrong when mixing neutrals. They do not compete with one another, they pair in perfect harmony!

Shimmer Me Timbers

'tis the season to shine! I take this very literally... Debuting my fresh new shimmer jeans today! I sure was excited to wear these bad boys, they are perfect for the holiday season. It's a casual piece that can be dressed up or down. How perfect is that? These can take you from cozy house-party to rocking it on the dance floor! I wanted to keep my outfit somewhat understated (or at least as understated as shimmer jeans get). I paired them with a silky black cami and black peplum jacket. I threw on some shiny ear-jacket earrings to bring a bit of the shine to the upper part of the outfit. I wore this fancy new acquisition to my annual girl get-together at a dear friends. Women gabbing and chilling around a kitchen island with wine flowing and munchies at hand. What better evening could a girl ask for?

The Show Stopper

You may recognize the necklace I am wearing as I wore it not to long ago (here). While the previous look was more glam, today's outfit is a way of wearing this fabulous bib necklace in a more casual way. I chose to wear a ballerina neckline striped top to allow enough negative space for the necklace to fill without overlapping with the top. I then added burgundy skinny jeans, a charcoal military blazer and taupe over-the-knee boots. The charcoal, burgundy and taupe are all pulled from the necklace, therefore harmonizing the look. For outdoors, I wore my charcoal lululemon coat and added my taupe faux-fur stole to match the boots while the burgundy hat was chosen to match the jeans. I simply repeated the colour palette from the indoors' look.
