Manic Monday

Another Monday morning... I have to say, I've been increasingly tired and stressed out lately. The renovation deadline for the house keeps being pushed back and there is more and more to do in the lead-up to moving day. I am up to my eyeballs in paint swatches and fixture options. So many decisions, so little time! Going on month 6 since the fire, I have to say, my energy levels are dwindling. The constant stress really takes its toll after a while. I don't think I will be able to breathe until we actually move in. But it won't be over yet. After the move, we're going to have to go furniture shopping. The plus side is that I will be able to do that on my own schedule and at my own speed. Let's just say today was one of those days. I had a hard time getting out of bed and once I did, the whirlwind began. I'm happy I chose to wear leggings, a soft shirt and a big cocoon sweater. All I wanted to do was crawl back into bed... I realize this is the home stretch, but some days are harder than others. I'm dealing with it the best I can, and keep telling myself we're almost there. Thank goodness for my tap classes on Mondays. I really needed to do something I enjoy to try and release some of the stress!

Black Beauty

All black everything! Ok, maybe not everything, but mostly all black today. We had a meeting to discuss the future kitchen layout and cabinetry placement, so I decided to spiffy-up my weekend uniform a tad. I stuck with the leggings and sweater combo, but opted for an open-front version with a pattern and fringe detailing. I also accessorized with my lariat and black lace-up flats for added interest. I was super comfortable and appropriate for the meeting. It was after all a meeting on a construction site, so no need for boardroom attire... Always dress for the occasion!

Fall Flavour

The air is nippy and the leaves are changing colours, fall is definitely here! It can sometimes be hard to drag oneself out of bed on a Friday, especially when the days are getting shorter and the sun is not up yet... That is why I decided on wearing a PJ-like outfit. Soft pants, a loose, silky cami and a knitted overpiece where the perfect combination to get me through the day. I also opted for a fall colour palette with the oranges, reds and tans. Lace-up flats are as comfortable as slippers, but are way more on trend, so that was my go-to in the footwear department. This outfit can take you from work, straight to the couch for a Netflix marathon! There is no better way to ring in the weekend, (for hermits like me, anyways!)

Over and Out

I recently got to spend time with my niece: what a treat! I also happened to have dinner plans on the same day. How to pick a look that works for both engagement? I opted for my black skinny overalls because they are both kid-friendly and classy. I added a tribal-print knit overpiece to add an element of fun. I then completed the look with a beige t-shirt and beige socks. At the last minute, I dug out my scarf headband to tame my big hair and tied it in a bow on top of my head. I figured, why not go all out? I was going for a classy look with childhood inspired touches! I am quite the package after all! X D

Retour au Bercail

Although it was nice visiting with family and friends, one must go home eventually. I opted to wear leggings (big surprise) and a knitted over piece. After, a marathon of eating and vegging out, comfy stretchy pants were required! The weather was great for travelling and we made it home before the massive snow storm hit.
