In the Navy

I present: monochromatic print-mixing! I feel like I haven't done much print-mixing lately. That might have something to do with having access to only a fraction of my wardrobe... Hopefully it won't be for much longer. Fingers crossed that everything falls into place (and on schedule) and that we get to move back home soon. I did a walk-through of the house today with the painter to mark all the walls with the colour codes I've selected. Upon receiving my very detailed list of colour choices, both the painter and the contractor were convinced I had a professional designer or decorator curate my list. As flattering as the comment was, all selections were done by yours truly. I have to admit, I did enjoy the selection process. I've been putting a lot of thought into each room design for the past few months. I'm actually using Pinterest the way it's meant to be used. Hello vision boards! I've been pinning most of the actual items for each room. I never thought of myself as having a knack for "styling" a room, let alone an entire house, but I've been looking at it from the same standpoint as if I were styling a daily outfit. The general concepts are the same in my opinion. It's all about colours, textures, interest, dimension and accessories. Here's to hoping it all comes together harmoniously. I'll keep you all posted!
