Mimi Takes Five - #28

ONE // Leather Gloves
I have to say, I never know just what I'm going to find when I walk into Giant Tiger. Seriously, this store amazes me! I stumbled upon these genuine leather gloves the other day and they were only $12! I was shocked! At that price, I couldn't just get one pair, so I grabbed a couple. I opted for some purple/burgundy ones and then I went for a neutral taupe pair. I have been wearing these babies non-stop and they are perfect! Even if they only last me a few season, they are so worth the price!

TWO // Evergreen Velvet Skirt
Can this skirt be more festive? It's an evergreen velvet skirt! I mean, come on! I fell in love with this Dynamite skirt the moment I clapped eyes on it! Being a huge fan of pleated midi skirts, I knew I needed to add this one to the collection. Evergreen is a perfect neutral to style for holiday dressing. It changes things up from black and navy while feeling fresh and new. I've incorporated more of this shade in my wardrobe these last couple years and am loving the versatility it brings. It's such a beautiful jewel tone that it's hard not to be drawn to it!

THREE // Cheese Board
Ever since we renovated the house and opened up our main floor, we love entertaining. (We've always loved entertaining, but it was less inspiring with a closed-off space.) We are also super into cheese/charcuterie boards! We got this massive serving board and use it every chance we get. I love doing this type of food because it's easy to prepare and you get to sit down with your guests and enjoy their company while grazing away on a variety of gourmet goodies. Cleaning is also a breeze, so what is there not to like? Plus, the presentation is always so impressive! We had some family over that night and had a really great catch-up, wrapping up the night at 2:30 a.m. That's how you know it was a great night!

FOUR // Red Ruffle Cami
When your friend designs a red ruffle cami, you know you have to have it! It's the perfect festive piece to add to my closet and will surely go with lots this season. I love a good silky camisole and the bold red just brings it up a notch! I plan on wearing it over a sheer top or thin turtleneck to make sure to feature the side ruffle. Or, you can wear a blazer over it for a more subdued office look. Either way, I'll likely pair it with red accessories and a red lip!

FIVE // Snow Globe Scenery
Winter is such a beautiful season! When the first snows cover the ground and trees, it's so magical! My grandma used to say that the trees would don their shimmering ice cloaks. The winter scenery gets me every time. It's amazing how nature can transform from one season to the next. I am always in awe during the first few snowfalls of the season. It's nostalgic and takes me back to the excitement of my childhood. I can't help but grin from ear to ear and feel all giddy! I especially love a fresh blanket of snow, completely untouched by anything, it's so pure and calming. Bring on the cocooning season because as much as I love the outdoors this time of year, the cozy indoors is also a big part of my love for winter. The flannel PJs, slippers, warm beverages, roaring fireplaces and a good read. Nothing beats that hygge!
