Things got serious this week and I had to pull out the heavy-duty winter gear... Up until now, I was getting away with my lighter winter gear as the season had been unusually mild. Well, in true Canadian winter fashion, nature flipped the switch. And just like that, it was full-blown winter. As you can imagine, getting 48 cm of snow in a day (and at least another 10 cm the following day), you come to terms with the season pretty quickly, ha ha! No more little booties, it was time for the tall boots and down-filled duffle coat. Some winters, I can get away with not taking out my warmest of coats, this year is not the case. I kept my outfit on the simple side today because I knew I'd be outside shovelling at some point. I'm of the mind that if it's going to be cold, we might as well have snow too. Well, we now have both components of a real winter. At least now most winter sports will be doable.
