My Fair Check

Cozy knits, layers and print mixing: all elements of a great winter look! I opted for a soft palette of winter pastels for today's outfit and I am really feeling it. After all the bold colours and statement textures of my holiday wardrobe, it's nice to soften things up a bit. As much as I like wearing darker tones in the winter, I'm also a big fan of wearing pastel shades too. The shorter days tend to be gloomy enough and I find wearing lighter shades brightens my mood. This particular Fair Isle sweater is light blue, blush, taupe and beige; making it ideal for winter, as opposed to the more festive colour patterns we tend to see. It's also very warm and has a mock neck, so a good option for cold temperatures. I paired it with light wash jeans and my taupe checked coat. I like a patterned coat and this one is neutral enough to mix and match with a lot without being over bearing. I topped off the look with wavy hoop earrings and a matching blush beret. I find wearing outfits that bring you joy help make the season more bearable.
