Apple season is here and we are hitting the ground running! Last weekend, we went to the local orchard to pick our own apples. I wanted to go first thing in the morning so that I could then bake my first ever apple pie. We stocked up on Cortland apples and a big jug of apple cider. 'Tis the season!
It was a beautiful, sunny and hot day. But, by going when the orchard opened, we did our thing before it got unseasonably warm and too busy. I'll admit the flannel shirt and quilted vest might have been a bit over the top, but I really wanted/needed to wear plaid for my first fall activity. I will however defend my red rubber boots. Those turned out to be the best and smartest outfit decision. As apple picking is in a field, the ground was uneven and littered with fallen and decomposing fruit. Also, the ground was still very wet from the dew. My feet stayed clean and dry while my husband's feet got very wet... Fashion had my back this time! I captured our outing in this Reel posted to my Instagram.
