Really entering my cozy comfort era. As the days get colder and darker, I just want to curl up with a warm beverage and blanket. I also find myself reaching for my flannel dresses and other soft-textured items. I'm a big homebody that is rarely found without a throw and a dog curled up on my lap. I love cocooning season and really look forward to it. I remember my winters as a kid, playing outside for hours in the snow and coming in with rosy cheeks to then curl up by the fireplace to watch movies. Growing up on a farm had its pluses : endless snowy fields to play in and a real fireplace to warm you up after. I will always cherish those memories.
In my now adult life, I still take pleasure in being outdoors in the cold and relish the subsequent warming up. Spotting my rosy cheeks still makes me smile. Unlike my siblings who tend to always have the most natural rosy cheeks, mine only get that way in the cold. I'll take what I can get. The sporadic snowflakes we've been getting and the colder front are making me anticipate the season to come with great eagerness. I'm ready for endless cups of tea, thick socks and cozy snuggles while watching the snow fall outside.
