I've seen the Nutcracker ballet five times in the last 10 years and it's one of my most favourite nights out this time of year. I love dressing up for any occasion, but one with a theme is especially delicious! This year's outfit was heavy on the traditional Christmas style with a bold tartan dress, matching red coat and faux-fur trimmed booties. I leaned into the aesthetic of the first act and added a Christmas tree pin and evergreen velvet headband. Not to mention the gold present bow earrings! However, I did add a hint to the second act with my choice of purse. The round peppermint candy is a sweet nod to the Land of Sweets! It was a magical performance and I'm always left with thoughts of sugar plums when I leave the theatre.
