Mimi Takes Five - #76

ONE // Poppy Brooch
I'm so happy I invested in this poppy brooch a couple years ago (I was inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge!) It's the perfect pin to wear this time of year, obviously. But I love that I don't have to worry about losing it like I do the felted Legion poppies. Plus, this one is more refined and fancy! It's also right in line with my love of wearing brooches, so it was a great buy and I love pulling it out come November. I have yet to wear it at a different time of year, but don't see why I couldn't!

TWO // Four Year Blogiversary!
Today is actually my four year blogiversary! My site has been live for four full years already. Boy does time fly! I have been through many things in the last four years: the fire, the rebuild, an engagement, a wedding, a honeymoon in Europe and then some! I can't believe just how much has happened in the years since I've launch my little corner of the web. Actually, the best part for me is that my blog ends up being a bit of a memory book, a place to inventory what goes on in my life. It's a sort of a legacy and that makes me a bit nostalgic. Who knows what the future holds, but I sure have a great memory of the past!

THREE // Rust Sweater
I'd been eyeing this super soft rust-coloured sweater at Old Navy and finally got it when it went on sale. It's the perfect fall hue to add to my closet! This sweater is so soft and cozy and has a slight shimmer in the knit, which gives it a little something extra. I like that it's lightweight and can be layered, but can also be worn on its own on a warmer day. I'm happy to add this versatile neutral sweater to my rotation! Rust not your shade? This exact sweater comes in a ton of other colours.

FOUR // Pore Cleansing Pads
A few weeks ago, I got these pore cleansing pads at Winners. I've been using them during my morning and evening face cleansing routines and I love them! The little nub on the back makes it easy to hold and the little bristles are soft and not irritating. The pad rinses well with warm water and I let them air-dry between uses. I didn't think I'd like these so much, but I ended up putting one in my vanity and the other in my travel toiletries case.

FIVE // Houndstooth Pencil Skirt
Last month, I talked about this houndstooth blazer (here). Well, I loved the print so much that I actually got the matching pencil skirt. I have yet to wear both pieces together, but I've worn them often separately. I can't get enough of this earth-tone print for fall and find it to be a great neutral. I often pair the pieces with colours I picked up in the print such as burgundy, mustard and navy. The gold detailing on the waist band is a great added touch and I'm really loving the asymmetrical slit at the front of the skirt also. It has been a really great addition to my fall wardrobe!
