Blue Monday






Ah, Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. At least, that's where it got its name. This is not a phenomenon I've personally experienced, but I do understand it. I try to fight those winter blues by embracing the season and leaning into what makes it special. Sure, it helps if you like winter to begin with, but a slight change in perspective can do wonders on one's mood. So the days are long and dark - add cozy lighting to your interiors. It's cold - embrace it, dress for the weather, and get outside for some fresh air and a dose of vitamin D. Experiencing post-holiday blues - plan a little something to look forward to! Low motivation - lean into self-care and don't pile on unnecessary expectations, motivation can ebb and flow so show yourself a little grace. I realize these are not quick fixes and are not accessible to all. All I'm saying is to try looking at things through a different lens and you might find small ways to help you cope. One of my tricks is to style fun outfits that motivate me in the mornings and put a spring in my step.
