Winter has well and truly set in. It's sweater weather like one would expect come January. I made sure to bundle up to stay warm on my way to and from work today. I layered a turtleneck and a sweater - you've got to play it safe with Canadian winter. I'd rather have more layers than not enough! I added my navy pleated skirt with tights and tall boots to finish the look. Matching accessories complete my winter outfit. I obviously chose a cozy coat, scarf and gloves for the outer layer.
January can be a hard month at the best of times and inspiration for getting dressed might be lacking. I find that having an array of fun, cozy knitwear is a great place to start. I also keep many solid long-sleeved t-shirts that are great for layering. Interesting sweaters is where it's at this time of year. Start with a fun sweater and build your outfit around it, keeping in mind the actual weather outdoors. Comfort and practicality often win over fashion during the winter months, and that's ok! It's actually my preferred approach.
