ONE // Bow Sweater
It was just a matter of time before I got a bow sweater. I've been seeing different styles pop up all over the place and, being the bow lover than I am, I was going to get my hands on one at some point. I was just holding off for the perfect one. Well, RW&CO delivered with this beige crewneck sweater with black embroidered bows. It's simply darling! I can't get over the puffed sleeves and very subtle scallop detail on the cuffs. I really think it's the ideal neutral bow sweater, meaning I can wear it from October to April without worrying about being on seasonal theme because bows work for every occasion!
TWO // G&G Code
If you've been around for the last few years, you've definitely heard me wax poetic about Grace & Grandeur bows. Well, I'm so pleased to announce that I have a special code for all of my followers! This 20% off code (MYRIAM20) will work on everything on graceandgrandeur.com for my American shoppers. For my Canadian shoppers, the code works on the G&G shop on Etsy! I absolutely adore all of my Grace & Grandeur hair bows and wear them more often than I can count. Each and every one is meticulously handcrafted and as exquisite as the next. If you had been thinking about getting one (or more) for yourself, now's your chance! While the Etsy site only contains G&G bows, the website also has a fun array of different accessories, mostly bow-inspired. A pretty bow would make a great Valentine's Day present! Happy bow shopping!
THREE // Bow Tissue Box
While on the subject of bows, I thought I'd share another bow-themed recent purchase. A few years ago, I got a few decorative tissue boxes for my bathrooms. I think it's a great way to have a consistent design regardless of the prints on the actual tissue boxes. It's also a practical decorative option. We recently did a bit of a clear-out of a storage corner on our countertops and the tissue box ended up just sitting there in plain sight. I was therefore on a mission to find a cute box to tuck it into. Well, I knew I found the one when I saw this beautiful bow design at Simons! The blue and white bows match perfectly with our room décor so now my countertop tissue box fits right in!
FOUR // Odd Bunch
A few weeks ago a friend of ours was telling us about a produce subscription box. We were intrigued. It's called the Odd Bunch because it's filled with the less desirable produce that is often overlooked. There is nothing wrong with the produce, but they aren't picture perfect. This company strives to limit food waste and I'm on board with that goal. So we gave it a try. When our first box arrived, it felt like Christmas! It was jam-packed with a great selection of fruit and vegetables (we got the medium mixed box). The selection changes every week and everything is listed on the website. I've always loved fruit and veggies, so was looking forward to just having options on hand. We got to try persimmon for the first time without having to buy an entire box of them. I like how you get a lot of staples but also seasonal varieties. We love to cook, so for us, a box of produce does not go to waste. We've gotten three or four boxes in the last two months and really love this option. It was a godsend after Christmas to restock our fridge with healthy options. It's also a great way to try out new-to-you produce without pressure. I highly recommend this subscription box!
FIVE // Opal Ring
Last weekend, my husband surprised me with a Winner/Homesense shopping spree for my birthday! He gave me a budget and let me walk down every aisle, taking my time, looking for treasures. He knows me so well! It was really nice to go to one of my favourite shopping spots with no other plans than to shop for myself. I'm not saying I never treat myself, but I've become much more deliberate with my purchases and am less impulsive than I once was. However, the whole point of this shopping spree was to give into those whims and impulses and get all the things I wanted to! I also love that this gift meant I got to spend a few hours with my husband, spending quality time with one another.
I ended up with a very random assortment of goodies as one usually does at this store. I'll share them over the next few weeks, but wanted to start with the most precious one - this halo opal ring! It's giving off very strong royal vibes without being a replica. I love opal because it shimmers in different colours, which means it goes with practically everything. I'm not the biggest jewelry girl, I'm more into the costume jewelry. That being said, I do have some very nice pieces that I love and wear sparingly. I had glimpsed at the jewelry counter rather quickly and had seen the opal ring. My husband's the one that spotted it was in my size and encouraged me to try it on. That's all it took! I really love this new statement ring!
