Mimi Takes Five - #396

ONE //
 Time Change
I really felt the time change this time around. That early Monday morning wake-up in the dark was a tough one... As hard as I found it, I think it really hit the dog hard this time too. My husband sent me this photo of her still snuggled up in bed past 9 a.m. She normally gets out of bed when I get up. On Monday, she didn't even bother to get up to go outside or even to see me off at the door like she usually does. She's getting older and is very attuned to the routine so it's normal that the time change would affect her too. I mean, it is confusing when the sun was up for a few weeks now at 6:30 a.m. and it's now dark again. That would through anyone for a loop! Let's just say I hope my province follows some of the other provinces in putting an end to these time changes...

TWO // Notre-Dame de Paris - Reunion
I remember seeing this reunion advertised back in November and have been wanting to watch it ever since! Well, the Notre-Dame de Paris official 25-year reunion concert was finally made available in Canada. This is the first musical that really got my attention growing up. When my mom got to see the show in Toronto (I think), she was obsessed. My siblings and I would blast the soundtrack and we all knew all the lyrics. My mom's friend was able to snag us tickets to go see it in Ottawa and it's a core memory of mine. Two moms and five kids went on a road trip to go see Notre-Dame de Paris with its original cast. We had front-row seats and I remember us all being memorized throughout the entire performance. I've been a fan of the show, the music and the story ever since. I've even read the original Victor Hugo book in French. Naturally, this reunion show was on my radar. It's two hours of wonderful, nostalgic notes. The original cast and the current cast harmonized for a once in a lifetime concert about a show that is still running today. It's a must watch for any fans of the musical. Both parts can be watched Tou.tv

THREE // Freezing Rain
Well, this weather tracks... We get freezing rain a lot and this year has been no different. We tend to get it in early or late winter, when the weather fluctuates around freezing. We got a few very sunny, mild days so, naturally, we had to balance it out with some intense freezing rain. You know, just so we don't get our hopes up too much. March is marching. Sun, rain, mud, snow - we're in for a fun few weeks. I will say one thing, as treacherous as freezing rain might be, it sure makes everything look so pretty!

FOUR // Cat Puzzle
I'm really on a roll here with my puzzles! This one was a fun one I worked on and off on during my lunch breaks at work. It's common to have a puzzle out in our lunchroom at any given time and I enjoy putting in a piece here and there. I had spotted this cat one in the pile of boxes and got it started. It was a 750-piece puzzle so a bit smaller than what I tend to work on. It was a cute image with some good colour variations that made it more straightforward. The cats were the hardest part, but it was relatively easy. I enjoyed this one because looking a cute cats can always improve my mood!

FIVE // Manicure
It's been a minute since I painted my nails! I go through phases and can go a little while without painting my finger nails. Winter tends to be one of those seasons... Well, I decided this week was the right time to bust out the nail polish once more. I chose this metallic rose gold option. I love that it's a neutral with just a little bit extra. It's not too bright or bold and totally matches my skin tone. It's a very complementary colour for me. I'm happy I took the time to paint my nails because now I catch myself smiling a little when I look at my hands. Sometimes, it's the little things.
