I finally got to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this week. It went live to the public yesterday, so now everyone can get their shop on! I was looking forward to it, as I do every year, but have to say I was a bit disappointed with the selection my store had. I know we never get all of the sale items, but the selection just fell flat for me. I did manage to snag a few great pieces but was hoping for so much more. A lot of the top things I was eyeing were nowhere to be found... Oh well, now I know what I'll be on the lookout for when other stores release their fall collections. TWO // Gossip Girl Reboot
Hey Upper Eastsiders, have your heard the news?
This week, I heard the news of a reboot and it couldn't have come at a better time! Over the past couple of months, I've been watching the Gossip Girl series on Netflix. I had never watched it when it first came out and, to be honest, I'm not sure how I missed it. This series is right up my alley and I must say I relate to Blair Waldorf's sense of style. Headband obsession anyone? I am fully invested in the series at the moment, so am all for this new iteration!

Another month, another Disney live-action remake! This time, it's The Lion King! I had talked about its release and trailer in this post. I also came across this old outfit post and it was giving me all the Lion King vibes, so here it is again for those looking for a bit of wild inspiration! We saw the movie at the drive-in yesterday and it was amazing! I have to admit that I didn't cry during the Mufasa scene, which surprised me because I was ready with the Kleenex... I think it's because the people in the car ahead of us decided to turn on their light and play musical chairs during the most emotional scene of the movie. Who does that? Anyways, I still enjoyed it very much and it stayed true to the original animated version.
My little palm-print pouch has arrived, so i can now carry around my summer products in a perfect, summery fashion. I got a bunch of goodies, but I have to say that the shades of my eye shadow, lipstick and brow gel are all very dark and more suited to a fall palette... Not summery shades! The peachy blush is the only seasonally-appropriate shade, so not sure what's going on this month. I can't wait to try the sunscreen and night-time face masks!
I figured it was time I highlighted this cute belt. Its raffia buckle and nude band make it the ultimate summer accessory! I've been loving straw-like belts this year and find they bring that perfect finishing touch to all of my summer dresses. I mean, after the straw hats and straw bags, it seemed only natural I gravitate towards straw belts!
