Purple Rain Ruffle

Well, I'm glad with the outfit I put together for today because the forecast was calling for rain and I got stuck in a downpour of epic proportions! I remember my husband and I debating which umbrella I should take to work with me this morning because I have umbrellas to fit any situation. I opted for the foldable one because I wouldn't need it on my way to work and it's easier to manage in the bus.

Well, as luck would have it, I got stuck in the downpour on my way home. It was raining so hard it was no match for any umbrella... The street was literally flooded and I was walking in "puddles" inches deep. The shorts were an ok call and putting up my hair was the way to go. Unfortunately, the patent sandals, although waterproof, were sooo slippery in the puddles! My feet would slide in my sandals with every step I took. It was similar to walking on ice! I debated removing them at some point, but I didn't want to risk stepping on anything dangerous. The puddles were that deep that I couldn't see where I was stepping. Thank goodness I was headed home because to say I got wet would have been an understatement!
