Pearls & Seahorses

With all this recent talk of Little Mermaid, I couldn't help myself but to be inspired by the deep blue for today's outfit. Although, very few seahorses are featured in the Disney movie, they've always been one of my favourite animals! I've had this seahorse-print skirt for about three years now and I don't think I will ever get rid of it because it's so unique and makes me smile every time I clap eyes on it! You can only imagine my excitement when I spotted this perfect match of a brooch at Banana Republic! I knew right then and there that it would be perfect with my skirt and that I'd wear the two pieces together, no matter how matchy-matchy. I did try and let the little critters shine by keeping the rest of the look white. I added the pearl headband and earrings because pearls also come from the sea, see what I did there? I also dug out these lace-up sandals from a few years ago because the shade is a perfect match. All in all, I just love this mermaid-worthy look!
