Current Climate

Although I know winter is coming to an end, I find the phrase "sweater weather" to still be à propos during these isolating times. Cozy sweaters are good for staying warm, yes, but they are also comforting. We all need as much comfort as we can get right now. If you can't feel the warm hug of a loved one, putting on your best cozy sweater will hopefully give you a consoling feeling. If you have pets, hug them, pet them and love them as much as you can. It might not be human, but any human-like contact is good for the soul. If physical closeness is not possible, try virtual contact. Simply talking is therapeutic, so call your friends and family to support one another from a distance. Let's all spread the love any way we can.

I see it as the world is cocooning right now and I'm hoping we will all emerge better people. A situation like this puts things into perspective and it's sure giving us a lot of time to stop, think and take stock of a lot of different aspects. I can see parents finding a new appreciation for teachers after having to take on the task of home-schooling, I can see people appreciating and listening to the medical community a lot more, I can see governments better preparing for crises such as this one in the future and implementing better social coping mechanisms, I also predict we will be seeing huge beneficial environmental impacts from this mass isolation and might actually believe that we can do something to save our planet. Above all, I hope people become a little less selfish and more caring towards one another. Yes, times are tough right now, but I'm trying to see the silver lining and am hoping we can all learn and grow from this experience.
