Frigid Floral

Another dark palette for today's look. I opted for a black-background floral dress and layered it over a navy pinstripe bow blouse. The effect is some fun print mixing with pops of colour. This is how to get away with wearing floral in the winter. If you anchor the print with some darker colours, it should work well. I kept the bottom of the look in basic black to keep the focus on the big bow and the fun prints. For the outside look, I chose to wear my grape-coloured coat with big fur-trimmed hood. I love how this coat is both seasonally appropriate and a statement piece! That's a double win in my book and I give myself extra style points today for the dramatic factor! This is winter layering at its best! I was super warm and did not have to sacrifice style for function. Not every day is as successful, but I will take it when it happens! How do you manage to balance warmth and style in the winter?
