Tulle at the Theatre

You know the line in The Devil Wears Prada when Miranda says that wearing florals for spring is groundbreaking? Well, I think the same could be said about wearing tulle to the ballet, ha ha! Is it on the nose? Sure, but I like running with a theme! I put together this outfit to go see The Nutcracker. I think the theme is fairly obvious. The tulle skirt and evergreen bodysuit are both inspired by ballerina clothing. I added elements that were a nod to the show like the nutcracker brooch and Christmas tree earrings. I also wore a red velvet hair bow that reminds me of the classic Clara hair bow. I finished off with a matching evergreen coat, my trusty gold purse and plaid shoes. I don't think this look could have been more nutcracker even if I tried!

I think this was my fourth time attending a performance of The Nutcracker through the years and I always tend to wear an outfit inspired by the show. However, I notice they get less and less subtle... Here's what I wore the first time, it's a blush tulle dress with black blazer. The second time around was more just sparkly, festive, and the third time was a white lace dress with blush cardigan. Like I said, this fourth look is the most extra of all!
