Summer Lovin'
Oh the joy of sunny days on the weekends! Summer, I am ready for you and your warm embrace! On this particular day, I went for an early morning run and amused myself by counting all the yard sales I ran by. There were quite a few! Afterwards, I had a quick shower and got ready to go run a few errands. It was so nice, I decided to skip the blow-dry and let my hair air dry in the car. The joys of having a moon-roof! So I apologize for the less than perfect mane. For the outfit, I simply grabbed shorts and a t-shirt. No need to overcomplicate things. I also like carrying around a big tote for all the summer essentials: sunglasses, wallet, water bottle, etc. I also like the fact I can throw a whole bunch of other things in there depending on the agenda for the day. I find it so much easier getting out of the house in the summer, it's less of a production outfit-wise.
P.S. Shop my look! All the items I am wearing are still available in stores. Click on the links below!

Candy Crush
You know you buy too much candy when they give you a free tuque... That's exactly what happened to me the other day. I was simply popping-in to replenish my desk candy supply and walked out with a colourful new accessory! I figured I'd wear it for an easy-peasy Sunday at home. I'm still in the midst of unpacking, so wearing this fun topper makes it a bit more joyful! The metallic T and fuzzy slippers help in that department as well. This would actually be a really cute Easter look. You've got the candy colours covered as well as the marketing! I guess I'll need to go get another haul of chocolate goodies to help out the Easter Bunny!

Casual Sparkle
Even if you are staying at home for a low-key New Year's Eve, it dosen't mean your outfit has to be boring. Today's look is a perfect example on how to add shimmer and shine in a cozy, effortless way. I picked a pink colour palette and started with some burgundy leggings. I added a blush metallic t-shirt and a boyfriend cardigan with sequin accents. Throw on a big pair of cable-knit socks and you are good to go for an evening of watching the Times Square Ball drop from the comfort of your own couch! Don't forget the bubbly!

Trippy Trolls
So my partner decided to be spontaneous and go to the movies last weekend. We have very different tastes in movies, so actually going to the cinema is a rare occurrence. We were scrolling through the movie listings and everything we wanted to see only started the following week... We somehow decided on Trolls. I was then inspired by the colourful, glittery beings for my outfit. I opted for a light pink metallic t-shirt, distressed denim, shiny booties and a cozy blanket scarf, because I always get chilly in the theater. A quick swipe of pink lipstick and a messy topknot finished the look. The movie was definitely interesting to say the least. We did have some good laughs, but it kind of gave off a "smurfs on acid" vibe at times...

All Sun and Games
So the forecast for our fun little getaway was not great. It rained pretty much all day on the Saturday, at least until around 5 p.m. As much as I was prepared for that and enjoyed coulouring in the gazebo, I was hoping to do some of the activities the place had to offer. As soon as the skies cleared, I put on my swimsuit and tried my hand at paddle-boarding. I'd been wanting to give this a go for a long time and the opportunity finally presented itself. Turns out I was ok at it and didn't fall off, which means success in my book! We then were lucky enough to go on a sunset air-boat ride, during which we saw a rainbow and a bald eagle in flight. It was awesome! You really feel like you're flying! Afterwards, we enjoyed some pizza and headed for a couple rounds in the sauna, hot tub and cowboy shower. Once I was refreshed, it was time for a big campfire and homemade strawberry rhubarb pie! The day might have started out a little gloomy but, in the end, we made the most of our weekend!
I ended up wearing a few different outfits, but repeated many items. I try to keep things simple when packing for a small weekend getaways. There is no need to over pack and repeating items is the way to go! I wore the first look for lunch at the chip stand and a couple errands in town. The second was obviously to take part in all the water-related activities and the last look was worn for the campfire. A little sweater is great for when the sun goes down and pants and long sleeves are a must to keep the bug at bay!
P.S. Sorry for the frizzy hair, I had forgotten to take outfit pics on the day of, because I was in the moment, and taking them at the end of day means my hair was in contact with the humidity and went crazy.

Roadtrip Threads
I have no vacation per say planned for this summer, but my weekends sure are jam packed! I wore this casual look on our most recent road trip. I knew I'd be in the car for a few hours and we were headed to a B&B in the country. I figured denim shorts and a t-shirt would be perfect glamping attire. I added some flat sandals, delicate gold jewelry and a straw fedora to add feminine touches to the look and soften up the rougher edges. Is was rainy on that day, so I was happy with my choice of clothes. Nothing that would get to ruined should I get stuck in a downpour... I also wanted to wear something that I wouldn't have to change out of once we got to our destination. I wanted to keep my dressing planning to a minimum this weekend.
