Burgundy Birthday

It's burgundy for the birthday girl!!! I didn't wear this look on my actual birthday (because of partner's night shifts), but rather for a night out with friends for the occasion. Our dear friends, and recent parents, decided to host a birthday dinner for me instead of going out to a restaurant. I was so down with that! I always prefer to stay in and bonus baby snuggles just sweetened the deal. What is there not to like? We had Chinese fondue, daiquiris and chocolate cake. The menu ticked all the boxed for me and the company was awesome. I typically have more quiet birthday celebrations because of the time of year. It's always dark and cold, so chill gatherings and cozy nights in are the way to go. Perhaps my date of birth has something to do with my hermit-like tendencies? I'm all about that hygge!

I decided to wear a simple ruffled-sleeve sweater, a statement necklace, graphic skirt and basic black tights. It was all comfy-cozy, but the details elevate the look just a tad. I was totally wearing big knitted socks in my boots too! They are a bonus when being a house guest. No need to bring slippers when you pretty much wear similar footwear all day long!
