Feeling Grey OK

There are a lot of things to love about fall, but catching a cold is not one of them. I knew it was bound to happen at some point, and frankly I'm surprised I made it this long before getting sick. Either way, cold-season is upon us and we'll just have to deal with it. Thank goodness for tea when I have a scratchy throat! I was a bit feverish today, so I chose to wear warm and cozy layers. I opted for a grey turtleneck sweater and added lilac jeans and a matching blanket scarf. The key word being "blanket" because that is how I intended to wear it today. On a side note, my fiancé gave me a funny look when I came downstairs and he asked me where my blanket was! I just hadn't gotten around to draping it over my shoulders yet. You know you wear them a little too often when the man in your life wonders why you're not wearing one! #basic He sure made me chuckle and was relieved when I told him I was planning on wearing one. He knows me so well it's scary!

Now, let's address the elephant in the room: my footwear situation. I will blame this one on being sick and not thinking straight. I wanted to wear these shoes because they worked with the look. The problem is, it was way too cold to wear them barefoot today. In my hazy morning rush, I reached for a pair of socks and figured I'd give that vintage 80s legwarmer look a whirl. I'm still not sure how I feel about the end result... It's either trend-setting or a fashion-fail. There is a fine line between the two. The positive points are that the socks matched the sweater and that my feet did not freeze. So I give myself points for practicality, but will class this as a fashion-fail. It's up there with wearing socks with sandals. I think it would have worked a bit better with nylons. You live and learn!
